Natalie McCool returns with festive single ‘Please Please Please (Won’t You Unwrap Me?)’. She plays her biggest headline show to date at Arts Club Loft in Liverpool on 14th December. Tickets are on sale now. See Tickets – Skiddle
This special release comes hot off the heels of the first single to be taken from Natalie’s next album. ‘Someone Nue’ picked up extensive BBC Introducing support, alongside plays on BBC 6Music and BBC Radio 1. She also popped in to see Janice Long at BBC Wales to perform the track with her band.
Before Natalie kicks off next year, with the next single to come from this forthcoming album and a trip to SXSW announced, we have this specially penned single;
“I’ve always wanted to do a Christmas song with a twist. I know at Christmas there’s a lot of cheese and love being thrown around, but what isn’t acknowledged is the fact that not everyone relates to Christmas in a good way – and if you’re suffering from loneliness or unrequited love it can be magnified x 1000 at this time of the year. So I wanted to release a song with these themes, but at the same time not weigh people down with too much heaviness. So although the themes of the song are quite serious, I wanted to wrap it up in (excuse the pun) quite a witty, upbeat & (most of all) fun way. So here you go – enjoy!” – Natalie McCool
2019 has been a transitional year for Natalie McCool, the start of a new and exciting phase. She’s played headline gigs across the UK with her band and also wowed crowds solo, supporting incredible artists such as AURORA and She Drew The Gun.
She released her debut album ‘The Great Unknown’ in 2016, with tastemakers from across the board becoming fans of her exceptional art, such as The Sunday Times, Q, Line of Best Fit, as well as Huw Stephens and Alice Levine. Single ‘Cardiac Arrest’ was also BBC Radio 1 playlisted, in the lead up to the release.
With further tour dates to be announced and her forthcoming album fully wrapped up, she embarks on a brand-new adventure working with a label for the first time in Modern Sky UK. With songs that capture themes of childhood, adulthood, love, jealousy and loss, ‘album number two’ fully sets the tone for such an ambitious and exciting act.
