Liverpool’s Eyesore & The Jinx are Josh Miller (bass and vocals), Liam Bates (guitar) and Eoghan Robinson (drums).

Setting politically charged, socially commentary against creeping psychobilly, Eyesore and the Jinx have announced themselves as a wholly unique proposition in Merseyside’s effervescent music scene.

Ahead of the three shows they have coming up, the band have shared a live recording of ‘Sleepless’, here they are to tell you a bit about the song and the recording:

“Summer 2018. Televisions were being clapped all too frequently, as a national football side did bits at a tournament. David Icke’s blood pressure hit new heights as the royal reptiles welcomed another into their lounge (a group of lizards apparently) – without giving us plebs so much as a day off, and Big Donny T an Kim J were spooning behind closed doors, giving you all false hope that they’re not going to obliterate you, as and when they feel. Also it was hot – too hot – the kind of hot that makes you appreciate air conditioning, and I spent the majority of it sweating my bits off.

At the height of summer, we were invited to Merseyside’s (self titled) Leisure Peninsula for a one-off, recorded, live performance in Fresh Goods Studios, Birkenhead – a former slaughter house nestled within Birkenhead’s, red light district. This is the final track we performed on the night, and the track that’s been closing our set over the last year. It’s a love song to the nights spent being prodded by your big old brain about all those times you’ve made a show of yourself.” Josh Miller, Eyesore & The Jinx

Unless you’ve seen the band live, ‘Sleepless (Live in Birkenhead)’ will only be the second track you’ve heard from them. Their debut single ‘Gated Community’ – a Cramps-inspired psychobilly outburst on arbitrary boarders in the post-Brexit climate – was released in May 2018 and has received support from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and national coverage from Loud & Quiet, The Line of Best Fit and the 405 amongst others and drew comparisons to the likes of Parquet Courts, The Minutemen and The Gun Club.

Despite forming little over a year ago, the band have built up a community of support across the Northwest with high profile shows alongside the likes of Protomartyr, Duds & Downtown Boys. Summer 2018, saw the band make a clutch of blistering live performances at festivals including Liverpool Sound City, Smithdown Road Festival and Liverpool Calling alongside IDLES and The Wytches.

The band have recently spent time in the studio with Fat White Family’s Nathan Saoudi in Sheffield, as well undertaking a number of recording sessions with John Hartley from iconic, Scouse, psych-surgeons, Clinic.
